26A – Celebrating Failure
1) I failed at a bet I made with my friends, which was to watch 10 Leonardo DiCaprio movies this semester. I has a reputation to not know or understand any movie quotes because I haven’t seen that many movies. Instead, I have only watch 3 movies because I never found the time for more.
2) I learned that it’s hard to stay consistent and passionate about something, even as simple as watching a movie. It takes real dedication and passion to carrying anything through.
3) Failure is hard, and we experience it every week in many different ways. Aside from this simple promise, I’ve handled failure by recognizing where I went wrong, facing it, and then correcting it. By not getting caught up in the logistics and taking everything one day at a time, you are much more likely to be successful. This class changed my perspective on failure by showing us how many little steps we can take to achieve our ultimate goal of a successful product/business. I am definitely more likely to take a risk now than a new months ago.

Hey Jessica! Wow, I don't think I've even seen that many Leonardo DiCaprio movies. I agree that failure is a hard pill to swallow but when you recognize what went wrong. Then in the future you can avoid that happening again. This class has also taught me that it's okay to take risks and to look at the little steps being made to one day reach the ultimate goal.
ReplyDeleteHi, Jessica! Watch 10 Leonardo DiCaprio movies in a semester? That sounds really fun! I can say I only watched one of his movies this semester, which was "Gangs of New York." I'm sorry you lost the bet, but I'm glad you learned how hard it is to stay consistent and passionate about something. With how busy our lives are and with all the classes we have to take plus everything else going on, we can't help it sometimes that we can't follow through with certain things. I'm really hard on myself when I fail at something, but this class has taught me to just take things day by day and be open to make extreme deviations from my plans and goals because everything will work out okay in the end.
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica, this was really fun to read! I also have a reputation among my friends for not having seen many movies, so maybe I should try this challenge. You mentioned that importance of taking little steps to achieve a bigger goal, which I think is a great way to overcome adversity. This class has definitely shown us how to break down problems and tackle them step by step!
