I enrolled in ENT 3003 because the focus of entrepreneurship is very interesting, and every business starts with one entrepreneur recognizing an unmet need and wanting to fulfill it. It is molding the business world today and in our future with every new product made. Out of this class, I hope to dive deeper into the mindset and perspective of an entrepreneur through every stage of their process. It is important to realize little areas like these in order to fully understand the big picture of entrepreneurship.

3A: My Entrepreneurship Story
From a very young age, my sister and I loved watching the show “Shark Tank” on ABC. This television show gives entrepreneurs and small business owners a chance to get an investment from successful investors through the products they invented. This inspired my sister and I to be entrepreneurs and come up with our own business ideas and plans growing up. Even though we haven’t created or brought anything to market yet, our ideas range anywhere from new social media platforms to a new small kitchen appliance or travel amenities. Through this, we used to keep a journal of ideas that we would think of while watching the episodes.

Hi, Jessica!
ReplyDeleteGreat story about you and your sister coming up with ideas together. I'm sure both of you have come up with some pretty creative ideas! I have a sister too, so I can relate!
What I really like about this class is from day one, we are taught how to think like an entrepreneur. I think that's the biggest lesson I've learned so far. Before, I would ask, "What product or service will make me money?" Now, the correct question is "What problems do people have that need a solution?" It has really changed the way I see things, and I hope we can all develop our entrepreneurial skills over the next few months!
What a great entrepreneurship story! I still love watching Shark Tank and the opportunities that these investors give to these small businesses to grow and expand. This class is very interesting so far, especially how he teaches us to find opportunities and how to find our target market for whatever business idea you may have.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and your sister good luck on your entrepreneurial endeavors and hope that you two bring a product to market that will solve some an unmet need in this world.
Hello Jessica, watching Shark Tank is a great way to get involved in entrepreneurship and a great way to get your mind thinking the right way. A show like that will get you to start thinking of different random parts of your life where you could use a great invention. Hopefully one day you can come up with some invention that ends up in the same place as those contestants.
